SUBMOTION

Light installation produced while working in the creative team at Acrylicize

My Role: Lead Designer

Client: HB Reavis

Location: 20 Farringdon St

Brief: To create an art feature to subtly guide visitors through the reception space.

Solution: Inspired by the subterranean River Fleet which runs below the building, this interactive installation starts externally to the building and flows through the reception space spitting to direct to the lift shaft or up the stairs. Each vacuum formed baton is programmed to light individually so that a subtle flow passes down the light sculpture mimicking the inspiration of water.

This was a fantastic opportunity to work primarily solo on such a big project. Throughout the design process we were presenting to the CEO and board of HB Reavis making sure to speak with one voice with the Interior Architects.  On this project I was able to spend a considerable amount of time designing using 3D software which furthered my understanding of Sketchup and introduced me to 3D Cinema Pro.
